Now What Seniors - Make Billionaires Pay for Climate Justice

An important goal of this event is to give seniors an opportunity that they might not otherwise have to make themselves heard on issues of national importance. Many of us have mobility limitations and use wheelchairs, walkers, canes. The site was chosen for its accessibility and visibility. That said, we have had people from all over Portland and all ages participate. Everyone is welcome. We are committed to non-violent action and to making Good Trouble. Join us!

On this day across the globe, communities will be gathering around climate justice.  As the United States braces for extreme heat, wildfires, and hurricanes, the Trump administration just rammed through a mega-bill defunding our communities to give handouts to billionaires. They’re dismantling our democracy, attacking immigrants, and feeding the war profiteers. The attacks on our people are directly tied to the attacks on our planet. The billionaire fascists are hoarding resources and leaving working class communities across the globe to face the impacts of the extreme weather and rising seas.
